Are pets allowed?
Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome at Higstad Hytta. A pet cleaning fee of 300 NOK per stay applies. We kindly ask guests to keep pets off beds and furniture and clean up after them outdoors.

Is the cabin available year-round?
Yes. The cabin is accessible by car all year round. During winter, the road is regularly ploughed, although we always recommend winter tyres during the colder months.

How many guests can stay?
The cabin comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests.

Is the cabin suitable for families?
Absolutely. As parents ourselves, we know how important comfortable and practical spaces are for families.

Is there WiFi?
Yes, the cabin has fibre internet.

Is bed linen and are towels included?
Yes, fresh bed linen and towels are provided for all quests

Is there parking?
Yes, there is parking directly at the cabin.

Is there a sauna?
Yes, guests have access to a private sauna during their stay.

How far is the cabin from Harstad?
The cabin is located approximately 15 minutes from Harstad by car.

Can we book longer stays?
Yes. Please contact us directly for weekly or monthly stay enquiries.

Will we have the cabin to ourselves?
Yes. Guests have exclusive use of the cabin and surrounding area during their stay.

How do bookings work?
A 25% booking deposit is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due 30 days before arrival.

What is your cancellation policy?
Bookings cancelled more than 30 days before arrival are eligible for a full refund (excluding any non-refundable booking deposit). Cancellations made between 14 and 30 days before arrival receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival are non-refundable.

What is a cinderella toilet?
The cabin features a Cinderella incineration toilet, a modern, waterless toilet commonly used in premium cabins across Norway.

It works by safely incinerating waste into a small amount of sterile ash, meaning there's no septic tank or unpleasant odours. It's clean, hygienic and easy to use, with simple instructions provided in the cabin.

Most guests have never used one before, but they're often surprised by how straightforward it is.
